Heart

For some time now we have felt the growing pressure of not having enough space to keep welcoming the crowds. People have come wanting to hear about the love of Jesus but have been unable to find a seat. For this reason, we have been praying with a sense of urgency, seeking God about making more space.

We thank God that construction has now commenced on our new 1200 seat auditorium and additional car parking. This is a vision we have been planning for and praying into for over 5 years. To see the construction process underway and God’s continued leading and guidance in this process brings much joy to our hearts. This vision is not about a building but about more people encountering the love and grace of Jesus including generations to come through our new kid’s ministry spaces.

At the beginning of this year God gave us a word from John 14 about the “Greater Things” He longs to do among us. In a year of construction, it would be easy to lose focus and pull back. However, our calling remains strong not to hold back in any way, the things our Heavenly Father longs to do in this community and beyond. So with this in mind we are expectant as we once again step forward in faith and obedience into the new visions He is calling us. We believe our heavenly Father is unfolding a great plan to bless many.

Part of the finance plan for the new auditorium involves raising an over and above amount in the coming financial year of $500, 000.  This appeal, called the Greater Things Project, will commence on July 1, 2018. These funds will be used to help fit out the new auditorium with the essential basics to make it functional such as seating, furniture,  hearing aid loop, network, audio, and lighting infrastructure etc. We pray that through over and above gifts, fundraising activities and any other savings Jesus provides, we will be able to raise this very large amount by June 30, 2019. Please pray if the Lord would lead you to support this aspect of preparing to welcome many new people.

Vision

NEW MAIN AUDITORIUM
The new plan will see the construction of a multi-purpose 1200 seat auditorium. This will provide more space for our services, being more than double the size of our current Main Auditorium. Its multi-purpose design will also provide extra room for special events, which have been limited by space, such as our Men’s and Ladies’ breakfasts, Seniors’ High Tea, Markets and Garage Sale.

BRIDGEKIDS COMPLEX
A key part of this development is the provision of more space for our kids and youth. Our existing Main Auditorium will now become the hub of our new BridgeKids Complex, which will also include the existing Meeting Rooms, Playtime Centre and The Chapel. This expanded space will be closely connected to the new Main Auditorium and provide exciting new facilities for our BridgeKids’ ministry.

SWITCH YOUTH CENTRE
The construction of the new Main Auditorium will also enable The Studio and The House to form the hub of our Switch Youth Centre. We are passionate about seeing young people discover God’s plans and purposes for them. This will provide an ideal environment for young people to connect with each other and discover the adventure of following Jesus.

PARENT FACILITIES
The new Main Auditorium includes an adjoining Parent Lounge and designated Parent Room with toilet facilities. We value parents with young children and this will provide some great spaces to help during this demanding stage of family life.

WELCOME LOUNGE AND FOYER
Our heart as a church is to follow Jesus’ call to “welcome the crowds”. The foyer of the New Auditorium will allow space for a Welcome Lounge to help new people feel at home and connect with others. The foyer will also include a central information desk and a coffee bar serving area.

COVERED COURTYARD
The new Main Auditorium foyer also opens out onto a covered courtyard to provide even more space for people to connect with each other and build community.

UPPER LOUNGE AND TRAINING ROOMS
The plan includes a mezzanine level above the foyer that will provide an upper prayer lounge and training rooms for courses, and smaller groups to meet. This will provide more opportunities for people to be equipped and grow in their spiritual journey.

EXPANDED CAR PARK FACILITIES
As we seek to keep welcoming the crowds our heart is to create a safe and easily accessible precinct. Our new plan provides a total of 325 sealed car parks with improved traffic flow including 4 street entrances/exits.
