Quiet Retreat Day with Alli Hodges

Thank you for your interest in the Quiet Day to be held on Saturday 23 October, 2021.
It will be a great to set this time aside to retreat, rest and enjoy the presence of God.The retreat will be held on at 80 McGinn Road, Ferny Grove – which is a private residence of one of our Bridgey community.
A limited amount of car parking will available when you enter the property, otherwise please park on McGinn Rd.

The Quiet Day will commence at 8:30am and close at 4:30pm.

Please arrive on time and set the whole time aside for the retreat (attendees arriving late or leaving early can be disruptive to others who are participating).

This focus of the day will be your personal and individual time with God – practising the disciplines of stillness and silence – however I will also provide a brief introduction to the retreat and also guide us through some short reflections or gospel meditations at the start and mid-point of the day.

As some people prefer to fast when they are retreating with God, we thought it would be easier if all attendees organised to bring their own pre-prepared lunch/snacks.
If you plan, to eat during the day that is of course completely fine. There will be no fixed lunch time.

Tea, coffee, milk and water will be provided and available to you throughout the day.

As the intent of the Quiet Day is to unplug from our daily lives somewhat and quiet ourselves before God, I would strongly encourage you to simply bring your Bible and your journal with you.

Once you arrive, I will invite you to switch your mobile phones to silent – so it may be helpful to let family and friends know that you will not be accessing your phone for the day.

As wonderful as sermons, podcasts, worship music and books are, I would love you to set these aside for the Quiet Day and just enjoy being with God in the quiet.

As we will be mostly outside on the property for the Quiet day (please pray for cool and clear weather), I would also love for you to bring your:

• folding/camp chair
• hats
• sun protection (sunscreen or maybe a sun umbrella)
