Church Vision and Finance
Sunday, 21 June 2009
At all our services today I want to share a short presentation
on the Vision and Finance plan we believe the Lord has given us for
2009-2010. This plan has developed following much prayer during
the Ten Days of Prayer, listening to the heart of many in our
church family and much discussion and prayer among leaders.
The vision that God first gave us in 2002 as a church has been
powerfully affirmed; we must keep "welcoming the crowds, speaking
to them about the kingdom of God and healing those who need
healing" (Luke 9:11). Even with many coming, we are not to turn any
away or make it difficult for those who don't yet know Christ to
hear the good news. In order to fulfill this commission in the year
ahead we believe the Hoy Spirit is leading us to call out some from
the body to add to our present staff. This will strengthen our
capacity to welcome the crowds. There are many other visions that
have been prompted by a burden to help those who are in need, to
bring more of Christ's healing power to lives, and to keep
looking to the fields that are ripe to harvest.
We have been led to hold our budget for the new financial
year around the same level as the current budget due to the
difficult economic circumstances many are facing. Despite
this, we sense the Holy Spirit is directing us to prepare for
the visions He has given us. So, as we press forward as a
church, we pray that the Lord will help us to commit anew and
obey His call to keep welcoming the crowds. Thank you again to
everyone who gives so generously and joyfully to God's work in and
through Bridgeman.
